It’s just so hard
September 24th, 2007 by angelalmyJust when you start to see the brighter of things, here comes dusk.
You tried hard, to see the glass as half cup full instead of half cup empty. But it’s just so hard.
You want to be selfless, but when circumstances are taken into account, you can’t help but be selfish.
Why ? Why does money hold such a significant position ?
It’s wrong to bad-mouth others.
It’s wrong to have negative thoughts of others.
It’s wrong to have strong feelings against others.
But it’s just so hard.
Two-sided faces, seem to apply to everyone, myself included.
What has become of us ?
Birthday, Delayed
September 21st, 2007 by angelalmyAs some of you may be aware, last Sunday i.e. 16 September was the birthday of yours truly.
The Bitch Clan attempted to surprise me by appearing at my doorstep without any acknowledgment. The plan kinda fell flat, as I had half-expected their appearance. Well, you can’t blame me, I’m just superbly smart we had just given Zin Mun a surprised visit on her birthday 2 weeks ago, you can’t expect me to forget right ?
Anyway, although their visit wasn’t exactly a surprise to me, their gift really gave me the shock of my life !
They came with this well-wrapped gift, and pasted on top was a picture of me … dressed only in lingeries !

Yeah, that’s me in that sexy bod. (I wish !) Of course it was photoshopped.
And on the back of the picture was yet another surprise.

You saw it right, it’s a condom. How naughty !
Now to what they gave me. A sling bag !

I reckon it looks gorgeous, whadya think ?
Well, the rest of the day was the usual stuffs. (There’s not much to do in KL) We went for a movie, ‘Hairspray‘. I strongly recommend this movie. Not only was it funny, it was hilarious. And the music is soooo contagious, you really do get the urge to get on your feet and dance along.
After the movie, the bitches took me to Kampung Penchala I think (I just followed their car, they wouldn’t let me know the venue) to a restaurant named ‘Bora Asmara’. (Sounds so obscene right ? Sounds like a place to ‘berasrama’)
The place had great ambience, but too bad its ala’ carte session only begins at 9. Before that it was buffet, and it costs RM45 ++. Not very worth it, since they only offered local cuisines. As a result, Zin Mun had to pry her head in pursuit for another restaurant.
Finally, we came to Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar. The ultimate dining place being ‘Opus Bistro‘. (If I did not recall wrongly) It was a classy diner, with superb ambience and expensive prices too. Pastas in normal serving sizes (Secondi) could easily cost you RM 40 ++.
Being the poor people as we are (we had to save a whole month’s allowance to dine here you know ? As if !), we ordered ‘Primi’ (I think) serving sizes, which is actually small servings.
The food was not exactly something to shout about, but was delicious nonetheless. Sorry, no pictures were taken as we were too intimidated to do so.
After dinner, the fatty bum-bums decided to go for dessert at Bakerzin, Bangsar Village. Here’s a look at the to-die-for desserts.
We had my Fave …

Coupe Cheesecake

Bailey’s Souffle
And …

Strawberry Cake
Salivating now, aren’t we ?
Besides the prezzie from the BC, I have also received this from Naoki & Jiun Guang

Thanks guys !
And a card from Lye Quan

Flown in straight from …

She even made an effort to call me on my birthday. Thank you very much Lye Quan, I really appreciate it. (Though you may not see this as I doubt you still read my blog)
All in all, thanks the BC and my other friends for all your wishes.
Special thanks to the BC for all the efforts in planning for my birthday.
MUACKS !
The awakening
September 7th, 2007 by angelalmyThe alarm rang.
With much effort, I pried open the heavy lids. Every step weighing a tonne, I headed into the Room of requirement.
As soon as I entered, I felt an aching sensation. I could feel bubbles struggling to leave the Tunnel. It was then that I knew the Excavation had been successful.
One by one, I removed the protective layers. And then I sat on the Golden retriever. The bubbles saw that as their escape route. One by one, they left through the Opening. And it scented the room.
But the Gold was not ready to leave yet. I tried everything I could. I squatted, crossed my legs, closed my eyes in focus but to no avail. As I waited, the heavy lids threatened to shut once more. Finally, I succumbed and I was unconscious.
Barely a minute later, my head fell forwards and I was once again conscious. It was then that I saw it, dark-brown in colour and flying ! It flew across my eyes and landed on the opposite wall.
I squinted my eyes in focus and I realized what it was.
It was ‘Little Keong’.
![]()
The control centre of my very being finally awoken. I stared at Little Keong attentively, observing its every move. Its antennas moved in a threat to attack me.
The thought of that filthy creature landing on me bare sent chills to my spine. Could I make it to the door in time ?
I stood up, grabbed the towel and wrapped it around me. And then I ran for my life.
As I predicted, it flew after me. I grabbed the first newspaper I saw and smacked it HARD.
‘Phiak’
Shit. I missed it by an inch. Perhaps it’s the early morning.
It disappeared, hiding somewhere.
But the room of requirement was finally safe once more. I returned to my business.
As though knowing it’s safe now, the Gold came down easily.
I looked down and was satisfied at what I saw. I turned the knob and the Gold disappeared into the depths of the Golden retriever.
Another great job done.

Merdeka @ Putrajaya
September 3rd, 2007 by angelalmyIt was August 30. The day I left E&Y and the night before Merdeka.
We are 50 now. 50 years of Independence. Gee, sounds so patriotic right ? Don’t get the wrong idea, I’m not. Yes, I do love living here, I love the peace, the freedom, the fact that it’s free from natural disasters, and that’s it. I have no desire whatsoever to sacrifice for the country, to lead the country, to fight for the nation ….
Anyway, on the night before August 31, AIESEC HELP, the host to the Dutch Ambassadors from Netherlands, organized a trip to Putrajaya. Since members of the BC (AIESEC junkies) invited me, I decided to tag along.

We boarded the KLIA Transit from KL Sentral. It costs a mere RM 15 for a two-way trip. The train frequents the station every 30 minutes, so brace yourself if you happen to be just in time to miss the train.

Ok, so the lack in frequency may be a downside, but everything else deserves a thumbs up. The coach took only a meager 20 minutes to reach our destination. The seats were comfy, and there was a petite air of class and luxury.

So I mentioned the Dutch Ambassadors. They are the craziest bunch of mat salehs I’ve ever met. They were bloody hell singing in the station. Not to mention LOUDLY.

At first it was something interesting. But then it became at one point, kinda embarrassing. But still, cool bunch of people, and kinda hot too.

So finally we arrived at our destination.
Putrajaya is really unlike any other town in Malaysia. Their roads aren’t named Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman or Jalan Datuk sth sth sth sth sth sth sth ok ? It’s named Precinct 1, 2 … Precinct ok ? Don’t play play !

But the place is really nice. It feels like you are no longer in Malaysia, that you’ve gone for holidays in some English country.
The objective of the trip was to witness the splendor of the fireworks as it is released into the skies of Putrajaya at 12.00 am. As we reach the area (I don’t know what’s the place called), there were some ushers offering tickets for seats at the top of a hill, and it costs RM 30.80 each. (That only if you’re a Maxis subscriber) Being the kiamsiap money-conscious Malaysians as we are, we weren’t ready to part with our ‘blood sweat’ money.
What did we do then to get a good view of the fireworks ? We CLIMBED UP THE HILL ! And guess what, our view was probably better than those who actually paid for those tickets.
But we weren’t that lucky though, one of the guards came to shoo us away. Yet we kept our butts firmly attached to the ground. (Ya what, there weren’t any signs saying that we couldn’t sit there) The poor guard could do nothing but leave. And it was all that worthwhile to hold on to our stand.

The fireworks were spectacular.

Happy Merdeka Malaysia !
Adieu
September 3rd, 2007 by angelalmyIn a blink of an eye, 2 and a half months have passed and my internship with Ernst & Young has finally come into an end.

I remember the Monday blues, the traffic jams, and the wee hours.

Yet when weeks became days, I started to miss those times.

I am very glad for being able to experience the ‘peak period’. The day of August 14, everyone was rushing like crazy. The panic everyone felt, I felt it too. And then when everything was over, I felt the sense of relieve along with everyone else. I think it was then that I discover the sense of belonging.
Other than the farewell luncheons, I received a really nice farewell gift from my colleagues.

A starbucks bottle !
Before I left, of course I had a camwhore session with some of the vacation trainees.

See how we celebrate merdeka ? We have at least one representative from each race in our group.
Happy Birthday MmmmSeeMun !
August 26th, 2007 by angelalmy
It was a birthday surprise planned prematurely but went awfully wrong. Not only did she expected it, she was not even one bit surprised.
We had dinner in Chef & Brew, an eatery well-hidden within the quiet yet expensive Bukit Damansara.

Great place, great ambience.

Feels like you’re in some European country.

On every table, there this bottle of sparkling juice, giving the place a touch of classiness.
The food was awesome, yet priced decently, not too expensive and not too cheap either. It was worth every penny we paid. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
For starters, we had Shrimp & Mango Cocktail. Fancy name, but it’s basically just shrimp and mango dipped in thousand island sauce.

Then came the main course.
Zin Mun ordered this Black Pepper Lamb something. Didn’t quite remember its name. It comes with mashed potatoes covered in that awesome black pepper gravy. The lamb was adequately cooked to that soft and tender texture. Zin Mun totally lurrve it. But the portion was huge, it took her so long to finish.
Yee Joo had something almost the same, only in a different gravy.

Christine ordered this chicken thingy. I’ve forgotten it’s name too. According to her, it was awesome too.
For me, I ordered Sizzling Grilled Chicken. Sorry leh, didn’t get a good snap of it. Cause everyone was waiting for me to snap theirs before they could dig in, so I kinda rush through my food’s photo session.
This is the best I could find.

With that gorgeous model, isn’t it the best effect ?
For desserts, we had the birthday cake I brought in earlier.

After dinner, we camwhored around the place.

Everything was fine until very suddenly, Zin Mun & Yee Joo went berserk.

They ran here and there.

One was dancing.

While the other was jumping up and down.
I was so scared, I didn’t know what to do.
Haha ! Actually, we were trying to create the effect of a picture taken whilst we jump and remain on the air. Something like this.

Sorrylah Msredd, I had to steal this from your friendster to explain what I meant.
We only managed this.

Obviously, we failed big time.
But we had a blast ! Happy Birthday Zin Mun !
My hair
August 23rd, 2007 by angelalmyWhile I was talking about my embarrassment, I can’t believe I actually had responses about MY HAIR !
Indeed I did cut my hair, and that bloody hairdresser promised me that it wouldn’t go all puffy. But I was hoping that it’s just me, and somehow I’ve deceived myself. But you guys had to leave those comments.
Really very thick ar ?
Take a look again … (It should be better lah now, since it’s the third day already)

Before After
A moment of embarassment
August 22nd, 2007 by angelalmyYou know when you like someone and it’s so obvious that everyone around you knows about it ? I’m not talking about the like-like kind of like. You know, between boys and girls. (Though now we have boy-boy, girl-girl and human-animal kind of like-like) The kind of like I’m referring to is those between friends, teacher, etc …
Knowing that it’d be last day my senior would be around before she sets off for study leave, I brought along my camera to work, so that I could snap a pic with her and the colleagues.
During my pre-farewell lunch, I mustered all the courage I had, ripped open my handbag and took out the camera. Feeling heat on my face, I passed the camera to the waiter. Mana tau the bodoh waiter tak tau guna the camera. With heaps of disappointment, I left the eatery empty handed.
Back at the office, I was counting the minutes to 5.30pm. (I don’t easily give up, ok ?) But when it was time, my heart was racing. Finally, another senior sent me an instant message. " Eh, you wanna take picture anot ? "
" Aiya, like quite awkward lah. " I replied. " Faster lah, I wanna ciao ady. " she said. I decided that it’s now or never, and so once again I dip my hands into the handbag and pulled out the camera that seems to weigh like a tonne. Gathering the courage that could have lasted me a year, I announced to the office, " Come, come let’s take picture. "
Then someone mumbled, " why so fast wana take picture dy ar ? " and another replied, " cos Val’s on study leave tomorrow onwards ma ". And instantly, my face turned glowing red that I could have passed as a tomato in the market.
All for this photo.
